The Association For Promotion And Protection Of Prlekija Delicacies has, in the past years, prepared a treatise, which was the foundation for the application for protection of the product Prleška tünka.
The product is protected with the mark GEOGRAPHIC MARK, both on a national as well as the EU level.
This mark means that the product, due to its geographic specification, is manufactured exclusively in an individual area, defined by the treatise. In the specific case, it is the Prlekija region, or can be produced by manufacturers, whose manufacturing plants are in the following municipalities:
LJUTOMER, RAZKRIŽJE, KRIŽEVCI, VERŽEJ, SVETI JURIJ, RADENCI, GORNJA RADGONA, ORMOŽ
The manufacturers must run plants, registered for meat product manufacture and ensure all technically – sanitary standards, required by law.
